I'm currently in my Senior year in the Math Education program at Brigham Young University. I love learning about ways I can improve my teaching strategies and I love watching the "lightbulb" go off as I help students understand difficult concepts in math! I've been working as a math tutor for the last several years and it is so fun. That's how I support myself during the school year and it gives me a chance to start helping students while I'm finishing my degree.
I've been a dancer since I was a little girl, which led to being part of the Ballroom Dance Company at BYU during my first two years of school. In addition to dancing, I trained as a classical pianist for many years. I mostly use that skill to serve my church community now, but I try to pull out some of my classical favorites whenever I can.
I received scholarships from Brigham Young University, the Distinguished Young Women of America Program, and other organizations in my home state. I've also received grants from the federal government. This financial aid has enabled me to avoid student loans and stay out of debt.
