  • Making follow up calls to patients after initial call by EPI/Contact Investigator
  • Documenting the names and contact information of all individuals who have had contact with a COVID-19 patient.
  • Tracing and notifying all contacts who have potentially interacted with an infected individual.
  • Provide contacts with approved information about isolation and quarantine procedures, and if appropriate, refer them to testing according to protocol and/or to a COVID-19 Community Support Specialist for social resources.
  • Follow a set script to inform contacts about the importance of isolation or quarantine and what to do if symptoms are present or develop.
  • Maintaining appropriate discretion with the information.

Breastfeeding Peer Counselor | Baldwin County Health Department | October 2019– October 2021

         Gives basic breastfeeding information and support to new mothers, including telling them about the benefits of breastfeeding, overcoming common barriers, and getting a good start with breastfeeding.

         Helps mothers prevent and handle common breastfeeding concerns.

         Counsels WIC pregnant and breastfeeding mothers by telephone, text messaging, home visits, and/or hospital visits at scheduled intervals determined by the local WIC Program.

         Counsel women in the WIC clinic.

         Attends and assists with prenatal classes and breastfeeding support groups.

         Attends WIC staff meetings and breastfeeding conferences/workshops as appropriate.

         Manages a caseload of WIC mothers and makes routine periodic contacts with all mothers assigned.

         Refers mothers, according to clinic-established protocols, to: - WIC nutritionist or breastfeeding lead - Lactation consultant - Mother’s physician or nurse - Public health programs in the community - Social service agencies.

         May assist WIC staff in promoting breastfeeding peer counseling through special projects and duties as assigned.

         Other related work as required.
