Ray graduated with a B.A. in psychology from Emory University in 2018 and his M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University in 2023. After undergraduate and before attending the M.A. program, he worked as a research assistant in a psychology lab at National Taiwan University. At Teachers College, Ray worked as a research assistant in the Development, Ecopsychology, and Wellness lab where his work focused on the relationship between people and the natural environment, specifically related to comparing populations of different ages. He also joined the Games Research Lab due to his interest in games and using games for educational purposes. Ray has been working in a team to design and develop a digital game that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion in corporations. His current research interests include racial representation in digital games, in-game racial experiences for racial minority populations, how to use games to effectively promote learning, and the use of games in counseling. Ray’s clinical interests primarily include working with adult clients/patients from marginalized populations, specifically people from minority racial groups. Outside of academics, Ray enjoys playing digital and board games, watching TV shows and anime, discovering cozy cafes, spending time with his cat, reading fantasy novels, and freediving.
