I worked very hard to put myself through college, often working 2-3 jobs at a time. I started at a 4 year university in 2010, but after the bill became too much I went to community college to get the credits I needed to transfer. I transferred to DePaul in 2017, and finished my Bachelor's as an independent student in 2019. I absolutely love Psychology and knew it was a goal I always wanted achieve. I connected with many of the DePaul faculty and students, and even went to participate in a study that was published. I wanted to specialize in LGBTQ+ Psychology and Developmental Psychology to be a resource for queer and trans youth who wanted to either be in the field, or wanted guidance.
I now work at a university, and would love to share my knowledge and advice on how to navigate seeking a degree as an independent (24 years and older) student, as well as how to financially balance real adult life with achieving the college dream.
